See how scheduling and attendance worksTeacher pay
Tell Muzeqo how each teacher is paid — per hour, per lesson or a percentage of fees, generally or per lesson type — and it works out every pay period from attendance, then e-mails the statement when you mark the period paid.
Each teacher has one or more pay rules: an hourly rate, a per-lesson amount or a percentage of the lesson fee, either general or for a specific lesson type, each with an effective-from date. When a session is paid, the most specific rule in force on that date applies, so a change in rate from next term needs no manual recalculation.
Time-based and per-lesson rules pay the slot once as soon as any place in it is paid — one child of five turning up still costs the teacher the hour. Percentage rules pay on every paid place’s fee. The cancellation policy decides whether an absence or cancellation pays the teacher: a teacher-cancelled lesson does not, a late cancellation usually does.
Create a pay period (weekly, fortnightly, monthly — your choice), and Muzeqo lists every teacher’s sessions in it with hours, places, who attended and the pay earned by rule. Review it, adjust if needed, and mark it paid. Marking it paid e-mails each teacher their statement automatically from the no-reply address.
Teachers log the trips they drive between home and host schools. The form starts from the day’s host school and remembers the distance of a trip logged before; Muzeqo AI can turn a typed week (“Mon home → St Mary’s 12 km”) into trips for the teacher to check. The office approves or rejects each trip and exports a CSV.
A solo teacher who owns the school is the teacher from the first minute: there is no Teachers list or Teacher pay menu to get in the way. An owner, admin or manager of a bigger school can also teach — they get a teacher profile on their existing login, with lessons, calendar colour and pay like any other teacher.
In the catalogue
One line each here; the full list, by group, is Everything Muzeqo provides. Each name opens its group there.
Effective-dated rules per teacher: hourly, per lesson, percentage of collected fee or of scheduled fee, general or per lesson type; a group session pays the slot once for time rules and per paid place for percentage rules.
Weekly, fortnightly, monthly or custom pay periods, pay day a set number of days after period end, unmarked lessons held to ask, pay or not pay, and teachers optionally on their own calendar.
Payslips are made per teacher the day after each period; the teacher checks (Looks right or Query this), the office decides held lessons, adds adjustments, reimbursements, bonuses and deductions, and approves or returns with a note.
This week’s estimated pay per teacher including lessons still to be taught; teachers see their own when the school allows it.
Teachers are reminded to check their payslip before pay day and the office to approve it; a pay statement is e-mailed when a payslip is paid.
Teachers set up a Stripe Express payout account; on pay day the school is debited once by BECS, a transfer per approved period moves the money and a payout settles it to the teacher’s passcode-confirmed bank; failed transfers can be recalled.
A BECS direct-debit mandate funds each pay run, and a reversed transfer becomes a credit netted off the next run.
Stripe’s BECS debit fee is either added to the school’s debit or shared across the teachers paid in that run as its own statement line.
Export approved payslips as an Australian Direct Entry (ABA) file with BSB, account and APCA user id to upload to internet banking, then mark them paid.
A payslip paid outside Muzeqo is marked paid by hand and the teacher’s statement e-mailed.

Questions
No. It calculates what each teacher is owed and sends the statement; you pay them through your payroll or bank as you do today.
Yes — a rule can be general or tied to a lesson type, and the lesson-type rule wins when both apply.
